I am excited to report that I was hired by Maritz Travel as a Corporate Travel Agent. I can't thank The Travel Academy enough for their training that helped me land this career opportunity. I just want to pass on to my fellow classmates and future students a couple things; keep the binder that was issued and pay very close attention in the career development class.When the day of my Maritz interview approached, I went through my binder and went over ALL of the interview questions, and it's a good thing I did, because the panel took turns asking me the behavioral questions. I nailed it only because I was prepared. I would have never survived the interview had it not been for Peggy and Cindy giving me the agonizing assignments like Sparkle and Shine, and those interview questions. I was ready for a very difficult panel interview, because of The Travel Academy.

My name is Shannon M and I recently graduated from The Travel Academy on April 20, 2012. I attended the 120 hour course with hopes to be hired as a travel agent with a company. I was extremely impressed by the instructors and administration at The Travel Academy. I was also thankful for the other students in my class. We all became really good friends. My Instructors were Mandy Brenner and Wendy Boles. They both were exceptional teachers and very informative and knowledgeable, I could not have asked for better instructors. On Monday, April 16, during the fourth and final week of class I received a call back and I had an interview that day. On Wednesday, April 18, I was hired for the position as a travel agent with Travel Advisors International, and I started work the following Monday after graduation. The teachers want you to succeed, which is nice because not all teachers are willing to help like they are here! Seeing how you are growing along with your classmates is amazing. We all come in the first day scared and not know what to expect. Now we are more dependant individuals. The Travel Academy didn't only prepare us to be flight attendant, customer service agents or travel agents, but how to be better employees and people. I graduated from the travel academy in August of 2010 and since then I've worked for two different airlines and I've been living the dream of a flight attendant! I've loved every moment of it and owe so much to The Travel Academy for making it happen! All of the hard work and practicing for interviews you do in class came in handy especially going in front of 300 people at an open house. It also gives you some more confidence and shows how much you are aware of the responsibilities that come with the job when you list The Travel Academy on your resume. I love my job and could not imagine ever doing anything else. Right after graduating high school I moved to Minnesota to start pursuing my dream and only a month after graduation did I get a phone call for an interview from the airline whom I wanted to work for!
