1. Admissions Representative

Qualified candidates will:

2. Travel Agent Instructor

JOB DESCRIPTION- The Travel Agent Instructor will: 

• Teach Travel Theory using the textbook "ACCESS, Introduction to Travel and Tourism."
• Incorporate games and other activities to ensure student involvement and learning. 
• Teach Geography including airport codes and USA and World geography. 
• Teach SABRE using VIASINC- an online training tool. 
• Keep track of grades.
• Be available if needed to help students after class. 
• Perform other duties as necessary. 

Hours- Class hours are from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM on select weekdays (approximately three days/week) with the possibility of additional days.

Teachers must arrive by 8:30 AM on teaching days. If no students need assistance after 3:30 PM and all preparation for the next day's lesson is complete, the travel agent instructor's hours would end at 3:30 PM. On recruiting session days, the travel agent instructor may need to arrive by 8:00 AM. 
Class sessions run for 10 weeks with one to two weeks between each session. 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Have 2+ years of experience in the travel industry with 1+ years as a travel agent
• Be proficient in SABRE (WORLDSPAN also acceptable) 
• Be flexible, dependable, and energetic 
• Maintain a high level of patience when working with students 
• Uphold a polished, professional, and conservative appearance at all times 
• Have a sense of humor and a team player attitude

* Previous teaching/training experience is a big plus!

3. Cruise Line Instructor 

The Cruise Instructor will instruct students using our existing cruise curriculum which includes six chapters along with hands-on training. PowerPoint presentations are prepared to go along with the cruise chapters as well as worksheets and activities to help the students comprehend and grasp the information. The cruise instructor will incorporate games and other activities to ensure student involvement and learning. In addition, the cruise instructor will teach Caribbean and Mexico Geography including airport codes for those areas. 

The instructor will keep track of grades for each student's worksheets, activities, and tests in the spread sheet provided and will be available if needed to help students after class. Most tests are done using a computer software program which grades them once the student submits their test with immediate results. Instructors are responsible for printing test scores for each group and for adding them to the spread sheet for the subjects taught. Other duties could be assigned as needed as we all work together as a team at The Travel Academy to ensure everything gets accomplished for the classes/students. 

Hours: Class hours are from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday. The hours for a full-time position would be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Class sessions run for 10 weeks- with one to two weeks between each session. 

Ideal candidates:

• Should possess at least 2+ years in the travel industry with 1+ years working on a cruise ship. 
• Must be flexible, dependable, and energetic. 
• Must maintain a high level of patience when dealing with students. 
• Must uphold a polished, professional, and conservative appearance at all times. 
• Will have a sense of humor and a team player attitude. 
• Previous teaching/training experience is a big plus!
*A travel agent with extensive cruise knowledge may be considered.

4. Flight Attendant Instructor

The Flight Attendant Instructor will instruct our students using our existing curriculum. Each chapter has corresponding PowerPoint presentations and worksheets/activities to help the students comprehend and grasp the information. The flight attendant instructor will incorporate games and other activities to ensure student involvement and learning. In addition, the flight attendant instructor may teach Career Development including:  resume preparation, cover letters, putting together ten year histories, interviewing skills, thank you notes, and job searching techniques.  

The instructor will keep track of grades for each student’s worksheets, activities, and tests in the spread sheet provided and will be available if needed to help students after class. Most tests are done using a computer software program which grades them immediately so students get their scores right away. Instructors are responsible for printing test scores for each group and for adding them to the spread sheet for the subjects taught. Other duties could be assigned as needed as we all work together as a team at The Travel Academy to ensure everything gets accomplished for the classes/students. 

Hours:  The Travel Academy class hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The hours for a full-time position would be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Class sessions run for 10 weeks with one to two weeks between each session.
