The Travel Academy is having its biannual career seminar so you can explore the many (full time & part time) exciting travel career opportunities available for our graduates. JOB OUTLOOK

There are 1,000’s of jobs (travel agents, flight attendants, tour guides, airline reservation & ticket/gate agents, cruise lines, independent travel agents-own your own travel agency) available for Travel Academy graduates! We cannot graduate students fast enough. Many students have numerous offers and are placed before they graduate!

Did you know currently there are 80,000 flight attendants in the US and the airlines are looking to hire between 8,000 and 9,000 more by the end of 2007? This week, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) predicted that 2007 would be a record year for airlines due to cost cutting measures implemented recently by a majority of the global carriers. This translates into more aggressive hiring by both US and overseas airlines. We are already seeing hiring levels increasing at many airlines and we expect these levels to steadily increase through 2007. IATA expects global airlines to post a profit of over $7.2 billion, the highest profit level since before the 9/11 attacks.

American Express Travel the largest travel agency organization in the World is looking to hire over 1,000 more travel agents this year! Their hiring policy is a Travel Academy graduate or 2 years hands on experience. This is the same with most travel agencies.

SUCCESS STORIES

Kyle S. has his Bachelor’s Degree and applied to American Express Travel and was declined. Kyle attended our 6-week afternoon class and was hired by American Express before he graduated.

Mary B. will be graduating July 27 and is hired at Carlson Wagonlit Travel (2nd largest travel company in the world). She also had offers by American Express Travel and LJK Airline Reservation Center!

Paula D. recently graduated with 3 employment offers: American Express Travel, Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Worry Free Vacations (vacation division of Northwest Airlines). She called her mother telling her she did not know which one to choose and her mother said "Oh I have to contact everyone at church and ask them to stop praying for job opportunities for you."

Thanks for everything, Curt. The Travel Academy has opened up so many new opportunities. It is hard to imagine that just a few short weeks ago I made the commitment to pursue my travel dreams. Thank you for a great start and the endless possibilities. I have been working for Group Travel Planners and although I came to them very late in their season, they hired me right out of class and have sent me out straight away on new travel adventures.

Hi Curt, Lori and of course Cindy, Thank you all so much for all your help with the Travel Academy, I graduated in March and was hired within a week of graduating. I was hired at LJK companies as an Airline Specialist and I love it. If I had not gone to school I would have never had this experience. Thank You so much.
