The Travel Academy continues to deliver success stories especially for Flight Attendants and other airline positions. Two more students were placed as Flight Attendants before they graduated! In addition The Travel Academy has numerous graduates in their final stages of being hired by Mesa Air Group.
Lori McPherson, General Manager and Placement Director, reports Mesa Air Group will be at The Travel Academy again December 10 to interview and hire for Flight Attendants. Mesa Air Group hires Flight Attendants for Delta Express, UA Express, US Airways Express, Hawaii Airlines & Mesa Air.
Lori also reports she is currently working with 3 Northwest Airlink partners; Mesaba, Compass and Pinnacle Airlines, who are all currently hiring Flight Attendants. In addition we are working with Colgan Air, which has bases through out the East Coast. Piedmont Airlines, Republic Airlines and at least 20 other airlines are hiring Reservations, Ticket and Gate Agents in addition to Flight Attendants.
NOW more than ever we cannot graduate students fast enough!
2009 Travel Forecast up slightly from 2008 especially in "High End" leisure sales. Even in a down economy there are many successful people with family's that will continue to travel. In addition there is a need for business travel and with gas prices low it creates lower airfares to spur more travel.
International travelers to the U.S. spent a record $12.7 billion in August, a 20% increase from the same month a year ago, according to the Commerce Department. For the first eight months of 2008, U.S. visitation was up 9%, to 34.87 million visitors!
The Travel Industry is America's 2nd largest employer! In most countries it is the largest form of revenue income.
The latest reports show Online Travel Sites are steering customers back to travel agencies!
