HELP - Hiring Fair - More Jobs than Graduates!
The Travel Academy has a "Hiring Fair" every 2 months.
We bring travel companies into our school that want to hire our travel agent and flight attendant graduates. Our next "Hiring Fair" will be this Wednesday, February 20. Northwest Airlines and Mesaba Airlines will be the airlines hiring flight attendants. Mesaba Airlines is hiring flight attendants starting at 18 years of age, Northwest starting at 21. There are at least another 10 possibilities for airlines hiring our graduates as flight attendants that will be at this hiring fair.
American Express Travel will be here hiring Corporate Travel Agents, CenTrav will be here hiring International Travel Agents, Hellenic Adventures will be here hiring graduates to help put together and escort trips to Greece. Blue Green Vacation Resorts will be here looking to hire sales agents. There will be more jobs available than we have graduates! This has been the case for at least the last few years. The Travel Academy cannot graduate students fast enough.
Last Thursday, February 14 United Airlines was scheduled to be at The Travel Academy to hire Flight Attendants. All of our graduates were placed, and we had to cancel their attendance. United Airlines hired 1,200 Flight Attendants in 2006, 1,400 in 2007, plan to hire 1,200 in 2008 and 1,400 in 2009.
