Price Update – Life Time Placement has its benefits!
The Travel Academy continues to lead in job placement success! Areas of the travel industry stay strong. The airline industry especially flight attendant opportunities lead the field. There are currently at least 10 airlines hiring flight attendants!

Industry Updates:
Hawaiian Airlines' passenger traffic grew 10.7% during 2008. The state's largest airline said it flew 7.86 million passengers in 2008, up from 7.09 million a year earlier. AirTran Airways also reported a gain of 3.5% in passengers, Delta reported a 3% gain, and JetBlue, reported an increase of 2.5%. The Travel Academy works with all of these airlines!
Cruise line arrivals rose 1.1% compared with summer 2007.
Majority of Independent Travel Agents upbeat about '09 By: Donna Tunney January 12, 2009
Nearly 70% of Independent Travel Agents reported that revenues increased in 2008. Survey of members was conducted by the Outside Sales Support Network (OSSN).
Fifty-eight percent said they were optimistic that their businesses will grow this year. Fifty percent said they planned to increase spending on advertising.

I attended the Travel Academy in 1997. After I graduated I worked my way from being a travel agent all the way up to Trainer. It was a very exciting position meeting new clients and training the new agents hired.
I reached my goal. I got out of the industry, and went into Administration and was laid off. Plus I got the itch to get back into the travel industry. I knew I needed guidance on where to look and brush up on my Worldspan skills. I contacted the Travel Academy Director, Lori McPherson, who was very helpful. We emailed back and fourth on when there were Jobs Fairs, and the Career Development day they have every Friday. I went into the Travel Academy for their help with my resume and to brush up on Worldspan. While I was there, Lori McPherson mentioned a position that just opened with a small Private Airline expanding. She thought I would be perfect to take over the reservation department.
Lori set up the appointment and faxed over my resume. After talking to the owner, he advised me to come in (the same day). That afternoon he offered me the position, and I accept it.
I just want to thank Lori and Birgit for all of the help with my resume and getting me prepare for the interview. They take care of the PAST and PRESENT students, by helping them reach their goals!

Price Increase
The Travel Academy will continue to work extremely hard to exceed your expectations in regard to our excellent training and placement services. We are a hard working team dedicated to your success. Our price increase had been delayed to get everything updated which has now been completed. All enrollments after Sunday, February 1 will be at our $3,495 price.
