Carlson Wagonlit Travel has changed its name to Travel Leaders!
The process for creating a brand name started earlier this year when Carlson Wagonlit Travel Associates, a division of Minnesota-based The Travel Franchise Group, became independent from Carlson, an international hotel, marketing, restaurant and travel company, and from Carlson Wagonlit Travel, which specializes in business travel management.
In addition to the new name, Travel Leaders has a new Web site, www.travelleaders.com
This is the latest name change for the company, which began in 1888 as Ask Mr. Foster, the first travel agency in North America.
In 1991, Ask Mr. Foster changed its name to Carlson Travel Network. Six years later, following its merger with Wagonlit Travel, the franchised agencies were named Carlson Wagonlit Travel. The same year, Travel Agents International locations in the U.S. were merged into Carlson Wagonlit Travel Associates.
