More Hiring Success Stories and Financial Aid Now Available!
New Program Qualifies for Financial Aid - Begins September 14!
The Travel Academy is excited to announce a new program that will better prepare students to enter the travel industry and will qualify for financial aidfrom the state of Minnesota. The new program, Travel Industry Professional, will be 10 weeks and 300 classroom hours in length. In this program students will receive the same foundational information and training they receive in our current course with the added bonuses that having double the class time brings, such as:
* More time spent on career and professional development
* Expanded flight attendant, tour operator, cruise line, car rental, hotel/hospitality, and rail curriculum
* Field trips to airline hangers, travel agencies, other industry businesses
* Guest speakers
* In-depth learning about destinations and additional points of interest
* The addition of amusement park, gaming, state and national parks, eco-travel, and student travel to the curriculum
* Advanced Worldspan GDS training
* Focus on current industry trends
The new program will qualify for financial aid from Minnesota SELF Loans, enabling students to pay for the program, housing, and personal expenses while attending class. You can learn more about SELF Loans and apply by visiting their website.

Industry Hiring Update
The travel industry continues to be hiring despite the state of our national economy. Our Job Hotline has over 100 postings right now for flight attendants, travel agents, reservationists, and with cruise lines and hotels - and we are updating our listings several times a week.

I would have to say The Travel Academy was a great decision. Even though I knew about the travel Industry it's not the same. Coming here taught me everything I needed to know about this industry and how to get the job. Speaking of getting the job... I DID..... I got hired as a Flight Attendant two weeks before graduating from The Travel Academy. I couldn't have gotten through those interviews if it wasn't for the instructors at the Travel Academy. I am still with Cruise Holidays of Littleton, CO and am having a hoot of a time. Despite the economy our store has really picked up in travelers and new clients. The owners have put me in charge of all things tech so I am doing the quarterly newsletter, weekly email blasts, our Facebook page and our Blog. Corporate is remodeling our website and when that comes back up, I will be maintaining that, too. Also included in my tasks is marketing! I was invited by Royal Caribbean to sail on the Mariner of the Seas for their re-inaugural of the ship when she was home ported in LA. What a treat! I thank the Travel Academy for my knowledge base and my ability to walk into a store front interview and be able to compete and win a coveted position.
