2 More Students Hired BEFORE Graduation - Our Graduates Are In Demand!
Graduates in Demand
At The Travel Academy we are always working to build relationships with airlines, travel agencies, and other industry businesses to help YOU get placed in your dream job.
Just this week we were contacted by Colgan Air (Continental Connection/US Airways Express/United Express) to help them fill Flight Attendant positions at Washington Dulles International Airport, Newark, and Houston! These jobs are not even posted on their website because they know that they can come to us first. We have candidates for them that have been trained in flight attendant procedures, airline terminology, and other industry standards, and that are already knowledgeable and committed to a career in the airline industry.
-
current students Laura L. and Alaina W. were hired as flight attendants!
-
graduate Daniel C. was invited to an interview this week
-
Colgan will continue to contact us first on a weekly basis with openings
Our students and graduates are also experiencing success with other airlines!
-
Ryan International Airlines invited 2 current students to continue to phase 2 of the pre-qualification process for the flight attendant position based in Rockford, IL
-
current student Laura L. received an offer for an interview with Landmark Aviation in Houston
-
graduates Anne Minole N., Stephanie G., and Britney H. to begin F.A. training in Salt Lake City with SkyWest this month

Travel Agents Wanted
If you've expressed interest in becoming a travel agent to family and friends and you received as feedback: "Why do you want to be a travel agent? We can do everything on the internet now!" then this is the article for you! (Paraphrase from New York Times, 8-3-09)
"A new report by Forrester Research found that many consumers are fed up with the complicated process of planning and booking travel. Customers are forced to figure out extra fees, wade through fine print and understand industry terms like the difference between a deluxe and a standard room, in addition to educating themselves about destinations, flights and hotels. "Travel companies expect the consumer to behave like a travel agent," he explained. "The question I always ask these guys is, 'Could your mother-in-law use your Web site without having to call you for help?' The answer is always no." In fact, a growing number of consumers appeared to be interested in using an offline travel agency, if they could find one."

Pilot: "Folks, we have reached our cruising altitude now, so I am going to switch the seat belt sign off. Feel free to move about as you wish, but please stay inside the plane till we land...it's a bit cold outside, and if you walk on the wings it affects the flight pattern."
Another Flight Attendant's comment on a less than perfect landing: "We ask you to please remain seated as Captain Kangaroo bounces us to the terminal."
