HELP we need more Graduates for Exciting Travel Careers!

Graduates in Demand

Travel Academy graduates continue to be in high demand with many travel companies hiring!  American Express Travel, the largest travel agency organization in the world, is hiring travel agents. Liza S., Reservation Manager for Sun Country Airlines and Travel Academy graduate 5 years ago, contacted us to hire 4 reservation agents. There are many other travel industry jobs available for our graduates posted on our "Job Hotline" Hiring Database, but you must be a student or past graduate to review them with a password!

Flight Attendant opportunities continue to lead most positions

available. The Hiring Manager and Lead Flight Attendant Recruiter from Mesa Air Group, which consists of Mesa Air, United Express, Delta Express, Go Hawaii Airlines, Freedom Airlines and US Air Express, was at The Travel Academy last Wednesday to interview and hire our students! This is in addition to at least 5 other airlines hiring flight attendants

right now, and we are in contact with each of them to help give our students and graduates a boost in the hiring process.

The Travel Industry is not just travel agents and airlines - we also train you for work inside tour companies, cruise lines, hotels, car rental companies, and more! Apple Vacations just hired one of our students here in Minneapolis, and we also have had students hired by Marriott hotels and Enterprise Holdings (Enterprise/Alamo/National car rentals)! Call us today to get signed up for an upcoming class and start your new travel career!

SIX Students Placed in October!

The Travel Academy is pleased and excited to share with you that six students were placed in the travel industry in the month of October! We attribute our success to our winning combination of the skills we teach and the relationships we have with travel companies. Congratulations to:

  • Trisha M. - Flight Attendant, USA Jet

  • Cameron S. - Flight Attendant, Colgan Airlines (Continental Express)

  • Lizzy L. - Flight Attendant, Republic Holdings (US Airways Express, United Express, Continental Express)

  • Jessica T. - Flight Attendant, Republic Holdings

  • Ashley E. - Airport Representative, Apple Vacations

  • Jan M. - Travel Agent, Amery Travel Services

In addition, Katelynn M., who was hired by Enterprise in September, has already been promoted! Congratulations to her!

We also have students interviewing with Westin Hotels, Ryan International Airlines, and Amery Travel Services. The Travel Academy is also working with Homewood Suites (part of the Hilton family) to better develop our hotel/hospitality curriculum and hire students from our program! And just this morning we heard from our contact at ACS, Inc. that they are looking to hire Cruise Concierge Service Agents in Kent, WA! We will continue to work our hardest to develop new relationships to help you succeed in your new career!

What Our Graduates Say About Us...

You can imagine my excitement as I write this letter to you today. Upon sucessfully graduating from The Travel Academy in March of 2009, I am thrilled to let you know, I was granted a spot in Mesa Air Group's Flight Attendant Training session, as a Flight Attendant. Thank you Curt, as well as to all the highly inspiring staff members at The Travel Academy. I know I couldn't have done it without the aid of the school. I have made life long friends, who share the same passion for all things travel-related, at the school. It was easy to do so, with the school's small class sizes, and hands on approach to learning.

From day one, a Travel Academy student can feel the electricity in the air, upon entering the travel industry. There are many areas to choose from within this ever changing and fast-paced industry, and many students have changed their minds, as to which career path to follow. But with the skilled expertise of the Educators, students are individually guided into the path, best suited for them. Of course, no school or office can manage without an outstanding back office. The constant and always updated news bulletins, job postings, and networking opportunities at the school are what keeps it a professional leader as a travel school.

The Travel Academy sets itself apart, for not only having a rigorous academic program of it's own, but one that prepares the student hands on for any aspect of the travel industry, whether it be in the airline, travel agent, or cruise/tour fields. For example, I am ahead of the game, so to speak, because a lot of the material learned at the school, is exactly what I have to learn at Flight Attendant training! Another important aspect of attending the school, is that potential job recruiters see it as a huge bonus, that one has put in his/her own money, time and effort into attending, and successfully graduating from The Travel Academy. This is critical, I believe, to putting oneself above the other would-be job candidates. The motivational assistance of the educators on Career Days and during job placement time, is another great aspect the school offers.

As many have said before me, and will say after me, attending The Travel Academy has allowed me the fulfillment of a dream come true. It's been a long time coming, but it certainly was worth the ride.

TRAVEL HUMOR

Overheard another passenger at the Barcelona, SPAIN airport after an announcement on the public address system:

"I can't understand a word she said. What language was she speaking?"

Flight Attendant Funnies:

"Weather at our destination is 50 degrees with some broken clouds, but they'll try to have them fixed before we arrive."

"Your seat cushions can be used for flotation and in the event of an emergency water landing, please take them with our compliments."

"We'd like to thank you folks for flying with us today. And, the next time you get the insane urge to go blasting through the skies in a pressurized metal tube, we hope you'll think of us here at US Airways."
